campBlog'09

Camp Blog ’09 is not just an ordinary camp for me because i learned a lot of things which i can use in my daily living. The 10-day affair, which was organized by the iSchools Project, will equip a new generation of students and teachers with an appreciation of the benefits of digital learning.Through camp blog, i was able to know more about blogging and i was able to know how to make your own blog. It was really a great experience for me. It was very unique and very memorable though it was my first time to be away from my family for 2 weeks.

At first, i was hesitant to join the camp for some reasons. But still, God is really good. Thank GOD i was able to join the camp. When we got there, my first impression was it’s boring because of the plenaries, discussions, etc. the whole day. But after how many days, i realized that it was fun. Especially when we started making blogs. I really love making blogs because i can express my feelings through it.

mimosa leisure estates MIMOSA LEISURE ESTATES- the place where we stayed for 2 weeks. As i read the invitation letter, and it says there that we will be staying in that kind of place, I was very excited to go there because I knew how nice the place is. When we got there, I was very amazed about the place, the view, especially in eating your breakfast and the accommodation was great. The villa where we stayed was awesome, it made us feel very comfortable and made us love the place. Until now, I still can’t believe that I’ve gone in that place.

plenariesI learned a lot from the plenaries discussions that we had. I learned a lot of skills. Skills such as online research and ethics, writing for the new media, online photo journalism and blogging which were taught by the veteran media practitioners – Katrina Stuart-Santiago, Joe Torres and Jimmy Domingo. And also, Professors Sol Hidalgo and Bambi Torrecampo shared their expertise in ICT-enabled teaching of Science and English subjects. They’re such a big help for me especially in my studies, specifically about ICT.

photographyThis photo was taken by me at San Isidro National High School, Bacolor, Pampanga,  during our photography session with Mr. Jimmy Domingo. I learned a lot from him. Especially the basics of photography. The right things in taking pictures. I so love this topic because I love photography. We really learned a lot of techniques and we were able to improve our skills in photography.

tour

May 24,2009-FREE DAY! This day, we don’t have plenaries. We had our tour around Clark Pampanga. Our first destination: Paradise ranch- there we had our trekking it was so tiring but we still enjoyed. I’ve seen the different kinds of animals, and the biggest butterfly sanctuary in the country. Second destination: Nayong Pilipino- I’ve seen many historical places there. Like the house of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

May 25-27,2009 – During these days, we were pressured because that’s the time that we will be making our final blog as an output for this year’s campBlog. And this time, out blogs will be critique by the different professional editors, professors in UPOU, de la Salle, Ateneo de Manila University and all other staff. May 27,2008, the day where we defended our outputs in front of many people. Most of us were very nervous. But, still, we tried our best to make our performance good. Thank GOD we’ve it!

May 29,2009- the day that we bid goodbyes to each and everyone in the camp.  Though, they’re already close to my heart, I can’t do anything. But it doesn’t mean that we’ll not see each other again. We can still communicate through texting, friendsters, visiting our blogsites, etc. Everyone were very busy exchanging phone numbers and email addresses.

So that’s it! All I can say is that CAMP BLOG ’09 really rocks! Thank you so much to PAC, CICT, and everyone behind the camp. This camp is a successful one. Through this camp, I met new friends all over the country and I learned a lot of things. I’m looking forward for the next campBlog. I wish that I can still join the camp. It was such a nice experience and very memorable.
